Windy, but nice, getting the production trailer ready for tomorrow's shoot at the Kauffman Center.  We're in the Muriel Kauffman Theater this time, first time there.  The show is  "Meet the Past".  It's a series of shows in which we interview famous historical figures.

Tornado Watch!

Sunday, fun day

In the 60's, wonderful!  Went to Emporia, stopped by Phoenix Herb on the way home for some teas.  Up 43rd in the art school district were these bike racks shaped like giant bike locks.  Cool looking:

What a game!  KU survives, K-State doesn't.  Missouri goes down to KU.  Wished K-State could have wooped Iowa State.  League play is winding down, headed for the March Madness.  Gonna miss it when it's gone.  Here the photo:

Another beautiful day!  Sun was bright and gorgeous.  Went down Scamps Alley, grabbed a shot of Epstein's Hardware.  Great store.

Market Day Saturday

Nice day, alittle cooler.  Breakfast at Casconi's, wandered around the market, went to a funeral for my boss's dad.  Ate at Cheesecake Factory, watched Kansas beat up on Texas Tech.  Nice day.  Here's the photo of the day:

Back to the Station

Even on a nice day, Union Station is still a great place to get some good photos.  Lots of folks there today. Once again, I had trouble deciding which photo to use,  I think I'll go with the clock photo.  What a great thing, that they were able to restore the clock with the station, after decades of "I'll meet you under the clock", a saying synonymous with Kansas City.  So, the photo:

Thursday, Headed for Friday

Great day!  Weather was wonderful.  Payday Friday tomorrow!  Then the weekend!  Walk up to The Scout, can't drive up there anymore.  Took a bunch of photos, had trouble picking one.  This is the one:

Well, the cool clouds of yesterday brought in the rain and the fog, so I found some lights in the fog to take a shot of.  Not the best shot, but it's kinda cheery.

Valentine's Day

Jan and I had a nice meal at Bolings in the market.  Nice to see it busy, we're usually about the only ones in there.  Caught this shot earlier from midtown looking north.  Nice view. The clouds are cool.

Trying to watch the Kansas vs Kstate game.  Time Warner lost the ESPN feed just as the game was starting!  I'm listening to it on the CBS website.  What a rip!  Well, it's Valentine's Eve, here's the photo of the day:

Toe the Line

Swung back to midtown on my way home this afternoon.  I didn't get a chance to get up on the railroad bridge between Union Station and The Freight House yesterday.  One lone man was standing there, he seemed to be waiting for a train to pass under the bridge.  His solitary figure and all the bright lines and dark shadows suggested overwhelming desperation....... or maybe not.  See what you think.

 

Saturday, day 42

Well, I'm roaming the Crossroad district today.  Here's some art I ran across.  I think it is a tape worm (not to insult the artist), so that's what I'm calling it.

A dreary February day.  This is the Kansas City version of "The Vietnam Wall".  Sober place, made even more so by the weather:

Wow, only 327 days left in this year.  Winter better hurry up and get over, I'm running out of ideas.  I need flowers and leafy trees and running water and thunder and lightning and animals cavorting and children playing (or is it animals playing and children cavorting?). Monday, yuck!

Drove up to the Rosedale Memorial Arch, pretty good view from up there.  It's Monday and I don't have much to say, just here's the photo of the day:

You Looking at Me?!

Went to Emporia today, drove home on old Hwy 50.  Not much traffic, hoped to get some wildlife photos.  Not much out today, although it was beautiful.  Some hawks, a feral cat, geese.  But there was a couple of llamas in a field that didn't mind me getting close to them, except they got upset with each other.  So here is the friendlier of the two:

Rain and rain

Might get some snow tonight, overdue for some (still hope we don't get it).  Wet, rainy today all day long.  Went to wine tasting at World Market for a little bit, they give some good ones.  Then took Janny to a baby shower, I stayed in the car and played with her new Ipad.  Stopped by and checked the trailer, here's a picture of it in the "cave":

Well, it had to end sometime, rain and wind, but no snow!  OK, I can deal with it.  Took a couple of pictures today, one of my croton and one of the stump of huge tree they had cut down just days ago in Union Cemetery.  I think I like the stump better:
