Rock Chalk Jayhawk, KUUUUUUUU! Wooooo!

Watching KU put it to North Dakota,  need alot of this kind of healing after davidson.  Went to City Market this am, got some spaghetti squash, steamed it, we had it with butter and garlic...yum and a nice cabernet.  Made some alaskan salmon dip for the game. After the game, think I'll take a little nap.
In honor of the salmon dip, here's a photo:
Mt. McKinley in Denali National Park.  Clouds cleared the summit just as we got there.  Great day.
Happy New Year, everyone!  365 tomorrow!

Home again, Home again, jiggity, jig

Nice seeing Jan's mom and sister in Arkansas.  Took the Ozark daughter with us, first time Grandma had seen her in a year or so.  Big surprise!  Well, its late, here's a photo:

I know, another sunflower photo, but this one has no bugs!  Enjoy.

On the Road

Seeing our daughter and her family at Lake of the Ozarks.  Great to see everyone.  Headed for Arkansas tomorrow.  Picture post: "Morning Run" Roaring Camp Railroad, Fenton CA.  Our grandson hated the train whistle.
Sorry for the short post,  hopefully more tomorrow.

Sun is shining, sky is blue, I'm at work, I bet so are you!

OK, lunch time finally.  Just saw a blog post from one of our producers, they are in Exuma, Bahamas.  I bet they have some nice weather there.  In about three months we'll be going to the Caribbean, western part.  We were there about five years ago, we'll visit some of the same places, some different.  I'm looking forward the most to Roatan, Honduras.  Haven't been there before, I understand the diving is great.
How about a photo:
We'll call this one "Breakfast".
I'm going to run down to the QT and get some lunch.  365 in 4!

Back to Work!

The week between Christmas and New Years is an odd time.  Nothing much gets done, almost all of our suppliers are closed, most the staff takes vacation, but we keep making television!  Nice looking day outside, sunny and 41.
A little disgusted with the Explore My KC photo contest.  On the challenges there is one of the photographers that is having her friends "stuff the ballot boxes" evidently by "skipping" and voting only for her photos, whether or not they are better or even whether or not they fit the challenge category!  Kinda takes the fun out of it.  Pulled my photos from the challenges, she can go ahead and "win" them.  I guess the $15 is more important to some people than enjoying the contest and competing fairly.  OK, enough of that.
I don't normally carry my camera everywhere.  I usually decide to go shoot some photos, grab the camera bag and go, but now I'm trying to get in the habit of having it within reach all the time.  It paid off couple of weeks ago.  I was going to lunch and saw alot of smoke in the distance.  Went and had a look and got a couple of good photos and it was different from what I normally shoot.  Here is one of them (Abandoned Horace Mann Elementary School, 39th and Garfield).
That is also what I hope the 365 will help me do.  Shoot different types of subjects and make me look around for new ideas.  We'll see.......
OK, everyone have a good day and I will let you know when the new website is completely up and running.

We've been Christmasing so long I don't remember what a regular day feels like!

I love Christmas and the celebration of the Christ's birth, but we had that Sunday, now it 's Monday and we are celebrating the "official holiday".  Oh, well, can't celebrate too much.  Merry Official Christmas!  Had a great day with our son and his family.  A perfect Davidoff Millennium cigar from my son. Looking forward to the next Diebel's special event.  Our new granddaughter is a sweetheart, takes a great photo.

Merry Christmas Day!

Had a nice Christmas.  Drove back today and now I'm working tonight.  We'll see our son, his wife and children tomorrow, hope to see the two local daughters, and their families this week.  Had a great visit with the out-of-town daughters, and their families over Thanksgiving.  Absolutely beautiful weather yesterday and today, don't know how we could ask for better in December.  This coming weekend we'll drive down and see Jan's Mom and sister in Arkansas.
If you have the time, please check out Explore My KC and vote for all the new entries, some really great photos.
Here's the picture of the day:  A herd of albino deer east of Florence, KS on highway 50.
PS.  Thanks for the kind comments, Deena (I only won one game)

Today at Dan's Drift

Took a couple of photos of the "Ferment" dendroid sculpture at the Nelson Atkins today.  Here is a post of one.  This is an incredible work of art, stands about 30' high and is constructed of stainless steel.
Well, I'm going to start my 365 project on Jan 1, 2012.  Stay tuned!
